Episode #21: Jason rushes into the street and saves Courtney from being run over. The next day, Don asks Courtney what is wrong, and she tells him vaguely about the voices; he wonders if she needs help of some kind. At the rink, Shannon is annoyed when Jason talks about how much Courtney means to him and is then shocked when he wonders aloud if a relationship between him and Courtney would work. Shannon tries to talk him out of it. Paula calls Sarah, who is relieved to hear about Molly’s engagement, but asks if there might be another man who is distracting Molly. Sarah says there can’t be, and vows to herself to never let Molly get Brent away from her. Both mention that they have not heard from or seen Tim & Claire in the past few days. Meanwhile, in the jungle, Tim and Claire step into a clearing. They say they won’t leave until they find James & Travis.
Episode #22: Sarah informs Craig that Dr. Smith was released from jail due to lack of evidence; he relays the news to a shaken Molly. They make love. Sarah assures herself that Molly is no threat to her marriage now that she is engaged. Diane acquires an ally when her assistant, Brian, picks up on her feelings for Tim when she accidentally spills about her part in tracking down James. Brian agrees to help Diane break up Tim and Claire. In the jungle, James tells Alan that he plans to raise Travis to follow in his footsteps. Tim & Claire hunt through the jungle for hours and eventually come upon what they believe to be James’s compound.
Episode #23: Tim & Claire try to figure out how to get into the compound. Unfortunately, James hears noise outside and sends out some guards to check out the situation; they find Tim & Claire hiding in the bushes. Shannon arrives at the Fisher home as Jason prepares for a date with Courtney’s friend, Lauren, and assumes that he is going out with Courtney. Shannon passes Courtney approaching the house as she is leaving and threatens her; Courtney sets the record straight, saying she is only there to work on a fundraiser with Paula. Recalling Courtney’s confession in the hospital, Paula urges Courtney to act on her feelings for Jason. Molly receives a hang-up call and then two from a disguised voice. Panicked, she calls Brent, who comes over. As he comforts her with an embrace and some (perhaps overly) kind words, an unseen Craig returns home. He makes his presence known and Brent & Molly jump apart guiltily. After Brent is gone, Craig throws a fit, apparently angry that Molly called Brent instead of him.
Episode #24: Jason tells Paula that his date with Lauren was good, but he felt something was lacking. Shannon decides she has to stop talking to Courtney through the transmitter before she gets found out. Later, when they go to the rink, Sandy informs Jason that he has to decide which girl he will skate with in the upcoming season. Paula tells her son to follow his heart. Courtney fantasizes about a romantic time on the beach with Jason. James visits Tim and Claire in the basement, where they have been locked up; when a guard brings their lunch, they knock him out and escape using his keys. Unfortunately, he manages to get word out that they have gotten away. The couple runs through the compound in search of Travis while James alerts the staff to be on guard. Alan finds Tim and Claire and corners them, holding them at gunpoint.
Episode #25: Sarah and Brent share a romantic morning together and decide to hold the wedding reception they never had. Sarah is confident that anything she feared existed between her husband & her sister is gone. Meanwhile, Molly receives another threatening note. Craig promises to keep her safe and apologizes for his behavior the night before. James stops Alan from shooting Tim and Claire and has them put in a cage -- hanging above a vat of acid. When he visits them with Travis, he shows them that the cage can be released from the ceiling, thereby falling into the acid, by just the pull of a lever. Once he leaves, Tim and Claire agree that they have to find a way out.
Episode #26: Tim and Claire convince Alan to bring them a blueprint of the building, thinking they should plan an escape route before actually attempting to escape. Diane informs Brian that she’s pregnant with Tim’s baby; they ponder how to use this to Diane’s advantage. Courtney has lunch with her friend Lauren, who figures out that Courtney has feelings for Jason and encourages her to pursue a relationship with him. After a talk with Molly, Jason says that he plans to resume skating with Courtney. Shannon, who has just arrived at the house, overhears this and departs without being seen. Fearing trouble, she pulls out her cell phone and dials a number.
Episode #27: Brent is unable to focus on his work, preoccupied with thoughts of Molly. He tries to tell himself that nothing can come of his feelings for Molly, who arrives to drop off the threat she recently found. They hypothesize about the stalker’s motives; Brent wonders if perhaps the stalker has no intention of harming Molly, but rather some stranger motive. Sarah and Paula meet to discuss plans for Sarah & Brent’s upcoming vow renewal ceremony and reception. Paula assuages Sarah’s fears that Molly & Craig’s relationship may not be that stable, but after Sarah leaves, Molly arrives to plan her own wedding and her mother questions her about her true feelings for Craig. Molly insists she is ready to marry Craig, but privately questions this. Meanwhile, Courtney begins practicing at the rink again. Shannon is visibly shaky but warns herself to calm down; she has more flashbacks of the man & woman screaming in a burning house. Before Jason gets a chance to tell Sandy his decision about who to skate with, they hear Courtney scream. Off the ice, they find her sitting on the floor. Someone has hit her in the knee from behind!
Episode #28: Courtney decides not to mention her suspicions that Shannon set up the attack -- for now. She does say, however, that she didn’t know who the man who attacked her was. Jason takes her to the hospital, where Dr. Smith tells her that she may never skate again. On the way home, Courtney finally comes clean to Jason about Shannon’s obsession with him and her feeling that Shannon set up the assault. Jason finds all this difficult to believe. In the jungle compound, Alan takes Tim and Claire for a bathroom break. Claire keeps Alan distracted by pretending to be attracted to him while Tim phones Brent and apprises him of their situation. Unfortunately, Alan catches Tim hanging up the phone and notifies James; they make plans to evacuate the compound at once. Meanwhile, Paula and Bill get a call from Brent saying that he and Sarah will be out of town for a while as they go rescue Tim, Claire, and Travis.
Episodes #29-31:
Courtney obtained the rink’s security camera video and was able to identify the hitman on it. She and Helen visited Detective Simms, who informs them that the hitman is Dave Roberts, who has been at large for some time. Courtney and Lauren headed to a club where Dave was known to hang out and a woman told them his last known address.
Brent and Sarah arrived in the jungle with several other officers as James and Alan prepared to flee with their captives. They managed to break into the compound, but they were caught trying to break Tim and Claire out of the cage. James refused to confess to kidnapping Travis and denied knowledge of the baby’s whereabouts. He prepared to send the cage barreling into the vat of acid, but Tim and Claire managed to escape. A heated argument between Claire and James ensued. While trying to stop James from throwing Tim into the acid, Claire accidentally pushed her father over the railing. He plummeted into the acid below.
Back in King’s Bay, Brent and Sarah’s family and friends gathered to watch them renew their vows. Jason and Courtney talked about their dreams for the future; Molly began to see how difficult it will be to marry Craig. Finally, Brent, Sarah, Tim, and Claire showed up with baby Travis. After relaying the story of the jungle adventure to everyone, the foursome began to get ready for the ceremony. Molly showed Brent that his father, brother, and sister had arrived for the special event.
Sarah walked down the aisle joyously to Brent, hoping she would never have to doubt his love again. She recited her vows and said, "I do." When Brent was asked if he takes Sarah as his wife, he hesitated after seeing Molly in the bridal party.
Episodes #32-34:
Brent says "I do," completing the renewal of his and Sarah’s marriage vows. The reception kicks into gear. Claire faints from stress midway through, but assures everyone she is fine. While carrying Travis around, Craig discusses with Molly their future and hints at having children. Realizing what a serious commitment marriage is, Molly is unsure if she can go through with it. However, she is also certain that Brent and Sarah do love one another and nothing can come between that. Privately, Brent has his own reservations about his marriage.
Claire struggles with her guilt over killing James. Diane is encouraged when she overhears Tim referring to her as "beautiful." Separately, Jason and Courtney both wonder if they’ve found that "special someone" in each other. They share a dance which begins awkwardly but quickly begins to feel just right. Unfortunately, the party comes to a screeching halt when Diane passes out. At the hospital, feigning surprise, Diane informs Tim and Claire of her pregnancy – but not the paternity of her child.
Courtney and Lauren again tail Dave, this time from his apartment to a large property. They are stunned to see Shannon answer the door. Lauren receives a page and must head to work, but makes Courtney promise to be safe. Courtney promises, but the moment Lauren is gone, she pulls out a camera and hides in the bushes. Shannon and Dave become suspicious and Shannon makes Dave go stop whoever is there. He forces Courtney to flee, but not before taking her camera – which holds the film with the incriminating shots of Shannon and Dave together.
Brian phones Claire from the office after getting a go-ahead from Diane; he anonymously informs her that Tim would like to meet with her in the conference room at the office. Diane lures Tim in there herself, and stalls enough so that Claire arrives just in time to overhear Diane tell Tim that he is the father of her baby.
Claire shrieks and rushes out. This alerts Tim to her presence and he chases after her. Claire is convinced he cheated on her, but Tim persuades her to at least let Diane explain what is going on. As a clueless Tim and a horrified Claire listen, Diane lies that one night, she and Tim had too much to drink after dining with clients and went back to her place, where they made love. Claire buys the story and exits, warning Tim not to come home. Tim cannot remember this event, but Diane forces him to at least consider the possibility that since it (allegedly) happened right after he was released from the hospital, he blocked it out with the rest of everything that happened while he was amnesiac. A dejected Tim heads to his parents’ house for the night.
Craig leaves for a short business trip, leaving Molly alone. She spends the time evaluating their relationship and concludes that she cannot marry him. She is also forced to painfully realize her feelings for Brent after a fantasy about him. A phone call from a disguised voice comes in and then Molly makes a call of her own. Later, a masked man lurks around the apartment. He teases her with little sounds for a while before appearing in the window. Once she sees him, he breaks the window and reaches inside, opening up the door …
Episodes #35-38:
The stalker breaks into Molly’s apartment. She screams for help, and Brent comes to her rescue as the stalker attacks her -- it turns out the phone call she had made before was to Brent, asking if he could help her with a plumbing problem in the bathroom. During the struggle, Molly gasps upon looking into the stalker’s eyes through his ski mask. He is knocked out and they remove the mask -- it’s Craig! A crowd of neighbors, police, and press gather outside as Craig awakens and pulls a gun, threatening to shoot Molly if Brent takes another step; he proceeds to explain his motive. It began as a ploy for attention from Molly, so that Craig could get close to her by comforting her, but as the relationship progressed, he felt it was necessary to keep her close to him. Craig proclaims that it’s obvious she and Brent are in love, and now it’s time to kill Brent for the misery he has caused them. A further struggle ensues, and the gun goes off. Craig is left lying dead on the carpet.
The next day, Sarah gets a call from Craig’s lawyer, who wants Molly to come down for the reading of his will. Molly, who is in a mild state of shock, refuses to leave the house, but Sarah learns that Craig left everything to Molly. Bill thanks her for spending time with her big sister during such a difficult time; Sarah is torn between her genuine love for her sister and her anger over the relationship she feels is growing between Molly & Brent. In the meantime, Brent reprimands the police officers who were stationed at Molly’s apartment for letting the stalker get in. When one of the officers jokingly taunts Brent about "having the hots" for Molly, he has a flashback of Craig’s accusations and becomes very upset.
Max and Bob check out of the hotel and return home. Danielle has decided to stay in King’s Bay and goes to the elegant Fitch mansion as a job interview as a maid. She gets along well with the widowed Katherine Fitch, who hires her on the spot. On her way out, Danielle meets Katherine’s son, Andy. Both seem smitten as they go their separate ways.
Tim calls Dr. Smith to schedule a paternity test for Diane, but learns she has already gone ahead and had it done. He awaits the results, assuming they will prove Diane wrong. He also has brief flashes of kissing Diane and connects them to the time he had amnesia and thought she was his wife. A suspicious Tim tries to call Claire, who is not home. Meanwhile, Diane and Brian discuss the fact that their plan would fall apart if Tim remembered being seduced by Diane in the hospital.
Danielle meets with Brent & Sarah for breakfast. Having spent a little time doing routine police work at the Fitch home after Mr. Fitch’s death, he is able to fill Danielle in on some of their background. At the same time, Katherine warns Andy not to think about getting involved with Danielle -- after all, she is on their payroll. Andy seems genuinely disappointed, but when Danielle arrives, he carries her luggage for her.
Molly’s wedding dress is delivered to her apartment. She again falls apart upon seeing it. Sarah comforts her and is reminded of their strong sisterly bond. Later, Brent comes over and Molly broaches the subject of what Craig said about their feelings. They mix words, not letting their true feelings show, but establish that their feelings or their kiss can never be found out. Sarah returns to get her purse, which she left behind, and spies them embracing. She angrily leaves, annoyed at the growing bond between them.
The results of the paternity test come back, proving that Tim is the father. He calls Claire to tell her about this, but also mentions his theory about Diane taking advantage of him while he had amnesia. Claire wants to accept this, but says she will need more than his word to fully believe it. The two hang up and privately bemoan their separation; both are clearly miserable without the other.
Courtney and Lauren go to Jason to explain that Shannon was behind the attack but also that the film was lost. Jason tells Courtney that he can’t believe this without some proof. A distraught Courtney blows up at him and leaves in tears. She privately fears that he might be in love with Shannon. Jason is unsure what he should believe.
Episodes #39-42:
Sarah paid a visit to Claire and informed her that James's body has not yet been found. Tim arrived in time to hear Sarah tell them that an empty envelope addressed to Diane was found in James's study. Suspecting something far more complicated than they guessed is going on, Tim and Claire reconciled. He headed to the office, thinking that James may have sent Diane a letter in another envelope, but found nothing.
Danielle tried to move a box of the old maid's things at the Fitch mansion, but the bottom broke open. She found several items, including a wig and a diary. She didn't want to look in the diary, but after Andy says the wig looked exactly like the old maid's hair, he read part of the diary. Lisa Stafford, the maid, seems to have either had a terribly morbid imagination or been the perpetrator of a horrible arson, judging from what she wrote. They decided to look into it further.
Through this, Andy and Danielle bonded. They were clearly attracted to each other, though Katherine seemed annoyed when she overheard them flirting.
After discussing his problems with Molly, Jason went to Courtney's to make amends for their fight. Don told him to head inside -- Courtney was in her room. As he was about to knock on the door, though, Jason overheard Courtney tell Lauren that she never wanted to see Jason again. A heartbroken Jason departed; the girls were unaware he was ever there. Lauren told Courtney she didn't mean that, which Courtney admitted. She says she was just frustrated that Jason didn't believe her.
Meanwhile, Jason went to Shannon's to talk, and before long she gave him some hot chocolate -- spiked with booze. He wound up drunk and she took advantage of that -- they made love.
King's Bay awakened to a snowstorm the next morning. Brent had a dream about Molly, but managed to cover when Sarah asked him what he was moaning about. They spent a quiet morning together. Sarah's interest was piqued by a news article about a P.I. agency.
At the Fisher home, Molly told Paula she was let go from her job. She vowed to put Craig and her misery behind her and get her life back on track.
Jason and Shannon woke up in bed together. She let him think they both got drunk voluntarily and then slept together. He told her that although he feels bad about leading her on, it won't happen again. He left. A furious Shannon went on an angry rampage, breaking things and vowing to get revenge on Courtney for Jason's unwillingness to commit to her.
The Fishers were called to the hospital after Jason crashed his car, but he was fine. He wouldn't let Paula call Courtney to tell her about the accident, but she did call Shannon, who came to the hospital. She calmly asked if he'd reconsidered a relationship between them, but he reiterated that there won't be one.
Once they learned Jason was okay, the rest of the Fishers remained in the waiting room. Molly headed to the cafeteria, feeling uncomfortable when Sarah and Brent started to argue. She met Brian and they talked; she accepted a dinner date with him. In the waiting room, Sarah managed to convince Brent to think about quitting the police force and becoming P.I. She thought to herself that getting out of King's Bay would be a sure way to keep his mind off Molly.
Diane also came to the hospital for a check-up. Claire, who was on duty, discussed "the plan" briefly with Tim. He then went up to Diane's room and made overtures about building a family with her. She was thrilled and agreed to let him move in with her. He hugged her, thinking to himself that this would be worth it in the long run.
Episodes #43-44:
Alone in his room, Jason berates himself for getting drunk and sleeping with Shannon. Meanwhile, Helen tells Courtney about Jason's accident; Courtney is crushed that he didn't tell her about it. At her house, Shannon vows to do whatever is necessary to snare Jason.

Diane goes out, and Tim "promises" her that one day they'll be married. Once she is gone, he begins searching for the letter. He talks to Claire on the phone and she encourages him to keep searching. When Diane arrives home, Tim confronts her with the letter -- and so does Claire, who steps out from the shadows.
After much prodding, Tim and Claire force the truth out of Diane. They admit that he only moved in with her to find the letter. As they leave, they announce they're going to sue for custody of the baby.
Molly goes out on a date with Brian and finds herself enjoying his company. However, she is troubled when, as they are dancing, a song comes on that reminds her of Brent.
Andy and Danielle are also having dinner at the same restaurant. They begin to feel a closeness, but Andy is reluctant to give in to it as he recalls Katherine's warnings.
Episodes #45-52:
On Christmas Eve, Danielle accompanied Andy to Katherine's annual party. Mrs. Fitch was disturbed to see them cozying up. Meanwhile, "Lisa" showed up at the house -- it was Shannon wearing a red wig, fresh from an upsetting visit to a locker at the bus station! Only Katherine saw "Lisa," who was there to make sure the box of things she had left behind had been thrown away. A clueless Katherine told her this had happened and Shannon departed, vowing that she'd worked too hard for everything to unravel now.
That same night, the Fishers gathered to celebrate as a family. Brent and Travis both had stockings hung on the mantle to welcome them into the family officially. Tim and Claire discussed their full intentions of winning custody from Diane.
Tensions were high between Sarah, Molly, and Brent. Several days later, Sarah encouraged Molly to pursue a relationship with Brian, secretly hoping it would keep her sister from acting on her feelings for Brent.
Jason confided in Sarah about his problems with Courtney, but went to see her later in the week and worked things out. They exchanged Christmas presents and made up before Shannon showed up, claiming that Jason needed to fill out some papers for their upcoming competition. He managed to keep her from spilling about their night together.
Danielle brought the evidence she had gathered to Brent, who recognized the house in the video. The arson/double murder had gone unsolved. He reopened the investigation, planning to look into each of the original suspects again.
Bill and Paula held a New Year's Eve bash which was attended by most of King's Bay. Molly brought Brian as her date; he became nervous that his involvement in Diane's scheming would come out and ruin his budding relationship with Molly. Danielle brought Andy and they shared an evening of romance.
An uninvited Diane showed up after partially drinking a can of beer and, after being rejected by Tim, stood out on the ledge threatening to jump. Tim and Claire lured her back inside by promising to give her partial custody of the baby. Claire asked Diane if she had been drinking, but Diane denied it. They left the party with her.
Shannon showed up with a date, DJ, although she paid him no attention. When she asked him to assist her in scheming for Jason's love, DJ refused and stormed out. Disgusted at seeing Jason and Courtney getting so close, Shannon finally told all to Courtney about her night of passion with Jason. The rift between he and Courtney grew greater. The next day, they met at the coffee house but were unable to work things out.
Sarah and Brent met with Hank, the head of the P.I. agency, to discuss their first assignment. He informed them that he had a jewel theft case for them -- in New York. They accepted, Sarah thinking that a move to New York would give her and Brent a fresh start -- without Molly.
Tim and Claire had a meeting with Greg Thompson, their lawyer, to discuss their strategy for the custody hearing. Brian and Diane discussed everything that is at stake for them -- her life with her child and his relationship with Molly. The two vowed to not let anything come between them and the things they want.
Jason and Courtney left for their competition in Phoenix. He could think only of Courtney, but Shannon had no intention of that getting in her way. Planning to seduce him, she climbed into the shower with him in his hotel room. He kicked her out, rejecting her advances, and declared his intention of dropping her as his partner once the competition was over.
At the same time, back in King's Bay, Danielle and Andy discovered a roll of film in the locker used by "Lisa." It was, in fact, the same roll of film that Shannon and Dave had taken away from Courtney. Andy explained the situation to his mother as Danielle had the photos developed; Andy and Katherine recognized Shannon as "Lisa."
Brent arrived and they put all the pieces together. Shannon had killed her parents, the Powells, after an extended stay at boarding school. After this, she had moved to King's Bay and changed her name to Shannon Parish. Brent announced that they had to get down to Phoenix before Shannon did Jason any harm.
