Episodes #121-150

The reunited Sarah and Brent made love, though both continued to worry about their private secrets. Sarah asked Matt to forget about their night together for the sake of her marriage and he agreed, albeit somewhat reluctantly. Both Matt and Molly dealt with the repressed feelings they held for Sarah and Brent, respectively.
Matt decided to stay in King's Bay and became reacquainted with Molly. She brought him as her date to the Fishers' New Year's Eve party, much to Sarah's annoyance. Though Molly and Matt also shared a deep conversation on Valentine's Day, they agreed that they would be nothing more than friends.
Sarah fainted on Valentine's Day and Brent took her to the hospital. Though she assured him that the doctor had said she was fine, she continued to show signs of illness. She tried to bring up the idea of starting a family with Brent at Danielle's wedding but was disheartened by his lukewarm reaction.
Sarah ran off and Brent went in search of her. Instead he found Molly. He confided his troubles and they wound up sharing a kiss -- which was witnessed by Danielle. Brent tried to explain the situation to his sister, but she insisted that his marriage vows take precedence over everything else.
When he finally did find Sarah, he apologized for blowing up about the possibility of a baby and they made up. Later, an attempt at making love proved disastrous when Sarah couldn't get the baby off her mind.

Don was served with divorce papers from Helen. Sally urged him to sign them but he couldn't. Don and Helen met at the Fisher house and began to talk things out. As they found their way back to one another, they decided to throw out the divorce and give their marriage another shot. Soon they returned to marital bliss and Sally was forced to give up on her schemes.

Courtney, Alex, and Lauren threw a surprise party for Jason's birthday. Alex and Lauren seemed to grow closer during the bash. However, both Jason and Alex had too much to drink, so the girls decided to let them sleep in one of the guest bedrooms.
The alcohol dulled Alex's inhibitions and he began getting sexual. At first, a sleeping and unaware Jason responded, but he awoke with terror and fled. Later, the young men passed the event off as alcohol-induced and agreed to try and forget about it.
Lauren and Alex shared a kiss on New Year's Eve and became an official couple. Jason's private memory of the incident with Alex confused him. Courtney encouraged Alex to pursue his relationship with Lauren, unaware of his own confusion.
A mix-up on Valentine's Day made Jason think that Alex was pursuing Courtney. He confronted Alex, who made it clear that the Valentine was intended for Lauren, but not before Jason forced him to half- confess his sexual confusion. Jason consoled his friend and was then torn between his loyalty to his friendships with Alex and Lauren.

Nick and Katherine continued to grow closer. He offered her help with the Andy/Danielle situation and they tried taking away Andy's access to the Fitch money unless he split with Danielle, but the plan was unsuccessful.
Danielle confronted Roberta with the truth and struck a deal: She wouldn't tell the Sound Sound execs the truth about Roberta's agreement with Katherine if Danielle could keep her contract but be exempt from the tour clause. Roberta agreed and Danielle returned home.
However, she confided in Molly that the tour may have put some distance between herself and Andy. As their wedding approached, Danielle became less and less receptive to his advances and also less certain of whether she wanted to spend her life with him.
Andy rejected his mother for her scheming. She and Nick spent more time together. However, he accumulated an enormous debt with the mob after a business venture fell through. On Valentine's Day, a car sped by the restaurant just as Nick and Katherine emerged and shots were fired. Katherine was shot in the fray.
The wedding arrived. Danielle witnessed the kiss between Brent and Molly and was haunted by her brother's advice to make sure she was marrying the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. When the procession down the aisle began, Danielle was nowhere to be found. In the bridal room, Andy discovered a note saying that she couldn't marry him and decided to follow her to her family's home in San Diego.
Katherine wound up in a coma. Nick was almost certain that the shooting had been a warning to him to pay his debt. Brent became suspicious of the Morianis as well and called in Claire to tell what she could about Nick's association with the late James. Brent decided to begin a police investigation into Nick's dealings.

Claire confided in Paula that someone from her past -- Ryan -- was causing trouble for her. Tim made the connection between Ryan and the story Claire told him about her rape and ordered her to stay away from Ryan. Claire became angry that Tim was trying to control her life but came to understand his worry and agreed.
It wasn't that easy, however. Between run-ins with Ryan and his intentional visits to see her, Claire couldn't avoid him. She hid all this from Tim, however. Ryan kissed her and she lashed out at him, with the rape still horrifyingly vivid to her.
After Katherine was shot, Claire realized how dangerous the Morianis are. Recalling both the rape and her father's business dealings, she resolved to get them thrown behind bars. She asked Ryan -- who lied that he had nothing to do with Nick's business -- to find out if the mob had anything to do with Katherine's shooting.

While Tim was unaware of Claire's continued involvement with Ryan, he had family issues to worry about. On Thanksgiving, he noticed Paula crying. Later, he spied her looking at a set of papers. When he was able to get a look at them, he realized they had something to do with an adoption, but he didn't have a chance to look any closer.
Tim tried to get his mother to open up, but to no avail. She worried to Bill that maybe Tim did know something. Bill was adamant that the kids should never know the truth, but Paula felt that perhaps the time had come. She nearly gave the kids an explanation but Bill interrupted and stopped her. The couple's arguing over the matter became more frequent.
Finally, Tim confided in Jason about the adoption papers. They pondered the possibilities and decided they had to get the truth from their mother, one way or another.
