TEASER
INT. CRAIG’S APT. NIGHT
CRAIG holds the door shut while MOLLY stands in the living area in fright.
				CRAIG
				Call the police!
				MOLLY
				(startled)
				Oh – oh, yeah!
She rushes over to the phone and dials.
EXT. CRAIG’S APT. SAME
DR. SMITH beats on the door frantically with a baseball bat.
				DR. SMITH
				Open up!
Suddenly the door opens, revealing CRAIG on the inside.
Craig grabs the bat away from Dr. Smith.
				CRAIG
				We’ve got you now!
MOLLY appears in the doorway.
				MOLLY
				Dr. Smith?!?
				CRAIG
				Did you call the cops?
				MOLLY
Yeah, they’re on the way over.
				(to Dr. Smith)
				It’s you?!?
				DR. SMITH
				I don’t know what you’re
				talking of, Miss Fisher. I
				just came here—
				CRAIG
Save it for the cops, Doc.
Molly appears relieved as police sirens are heard in the distance.
ACT ONE
INT. CRAIG’S APT. MORNING
MOLLY sits on the couch, appearing flustered. Enter SARAH, carrying two cups of coffee. She hands one to Molly and sits beside her.
				SARAH
				You’re very lucky, Mol. If
				not for Craig—
				MOLLY
				I know … Dr. Smith might’ve
killed me. But I just don’t
				understand why he was doing
this to me – I mean, why was
				he stalking me?
				SARAH
Well, in his statement to the
police he said that he came
here to tell you about Claire
and the baby and Tim’s memory
coming back. He rambled a lot.
				MOLLY
				I’m extremely confused. I had
				to take the day off.
				SARAH
				I understand completely. It
				is a pretty traumatic thing,
				I would think.
				MOLLY
And that would be the under-
				statement of the year. When
				you’re being stalked, it’s
				like there’s this constant
presence … you can go about
life as usual, but it never
				goes away.
				SARAH
				It’s over now.
				MOLLY
At least we caught him … no
				matter what his motive was.
INT. CHASE HOME SAME
COURTNEY is asleep in her bed. She seems to be sleeping un- easily.
										FADE TO:
NIGHTMARE
Against a black background, images of JASON and SHANNON swirl.
				SHANNON
				(dreamlike)
				He’s mine, Courtney! All mine!
				(beat)
You’ll never have him … never!
CUT TO:
INT. CHASE HOME MORNING
COURTNEY wakes up startled in her bed.
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM SAME
CLAIRE sleeps in the bed. TIM is slumped in a chair nearby. He slowly comes to.
				TIM
				(thinking)
				I can’t believe it – not only
did I become a father yesterday,
but my memory came back! But
now we have to figure out what
to do about James – I still
can’t believe it was him that
ordered me to be shot …
Enter a NURSE, frantic.
				NURSE
				Mr. Fisher?
				TIM
				Yeah?
				NURSE
				Something terrible happened
				last night.
				TIM
Oh my God! The baby – is he
				okay?
				NURSE
				I – we don’t know.
				TIM
				What? What’s going on?
				NURSE
Your son – he disappeared from
				the hospital last night.
Tim is shocked.
ACT TWO
INT. CHASE HOME	MORNING
COURTNEY sits up terrified in her bed and screams. Her parents, HELEN and DON, rush in.
				HELEN
				What’s wrong, Court?
				COURTNEY
				Oh, um … I had a terrible
				nightmare.
				DON
				About what?
Courtney hesitates before answering.
				COURTNEY
				Um … I’m not sure. I kept
				hearing these voices.
				HELEN
				That’s odd. Why don’t you
				come downstairs and have a
				little breakfast?
				COURTNEY
That sounds like a good idea.
Don and Helen exit the room.
				SHANNON (OS)
				(through speaker)
				You can’t win, Courtney. You
				won’t.
				COURTNEY
What the hell is going on?
				Why am I hearing Shannon’s
				voice?
INT. CRAIG’S APT. SAME
MOLLY and SARAH sit on the couch drinking coffee.
				MOLLY
Like I said, I’m just glad
				it’s over.
				SARAH
You know, we still have to go
				through the trial …
				MOLLY
I can deal with that. As long
				as he’s behind bars.
				SARAH
				So, what exactly happened
				last night?
				MOLLY
We heard this pounding on the
door. Craig opens it, and we
see Dr. Smith. So I call the
police. Dr. Smith hit Craig &
				rushed inside, but Brent came
				in and stopped him.
				SARAH
				(thinking, sarcastic)
				Of course. Your knight in
				shining armor.
Sarah pours more coffee.
				SARAH
				And Craig’s okay?
				MOLLY
He’s fine. I’m just glad that
Brent got here when he did.
				SARAH
				(thinking)
Molly, I love you, but you
				had better keep your hands
				off of Brent—
The phone rings. Molly answers it.
				MOLLY
				Hello?
				(to Sarah)
				It’s Brent.
				(beat)
Yeah, sure, we’ll be there in
				a sec. Bye.
She hangs up.
				SARAH
				What’d he want?
				MOLLY
We need to go down there. He
needs to get a statement from
				me.
				SARAH
				Sure. I’ll drive.
They leave the apartment.
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM SAME
A NURSE speaks with a frantic TIM as CLAIRE sleeps in the bed.
				TIM
				Travis? He’s gone?!?
				NURSE
				We’re not sure what happened.
				Someone must have kidnapped
				your son.
				TIM
				This can’t be happening.
He begins to pace.
				TIM
				(cont’d)
We’ve gotta get the police working
on this right away.
				NURSE
				We already notified them –
the minute we figured it out
				ourselves.
				TIM
Oh, uh, thank you, I guess.
				NURSE
				Sure. We’ll keep you updated.
The nurse leaves.
				TIM
				(oddly calm)
				I can’t believe it – he’s
				gone. My son. Gone …
Claire opens her eyes and appears confused.
ACT THREE
INT. APARTMENT MORNING
SHANNON sits at the table, eating breakfast. Nearby is a small MICROPHONE.
				SHANNON
				This was a brilliant idea,
				Shannon. Sending Courtney
those messages in her sleep –
				before long she’s gonna think
she’s losing her mind … and
that is when the fun begins.
INT. BRENT’S OFFICE SAME
BRENT sits behind his desk, working. He puts down the pen in frustration.
				BRENT
				(thinking)
				God, I can’t concentrate. I
				can’t stop thinking about me
				and Molly. What about Sarah?
				I married her … I took those
				vows. I’ve gotta get Molly
				out of my mind.
A knock comes on the door. It quickly opens. Enter SARAH and MOLLY.
				SARAH
				Hey, honey.
				BRENT
				Oh, hey.
He rises and greets her with a kiss. He and Molly regard each other awkwardly.
				BRENT
Molly, I’m gonna need to take
a statement from you about the
				things that happened last
				night.
				MOLLY
				Sure.
She sits in a chair across the desk from him. Sarah sits next to her.
Brent pulls out a small tape recorder.
				BRENT
Why don’t you just tell me
				what happened? Don’t leave out
anything – it’s better to have
				more than less.
				MOLLY
				Craig and I were unpacking.
All of a sudden, we heard this
				loud – I mean loud – banging
on the door. First we tried to
hold it shut, and then Craig
just opened it. I called the
				police while he wrestled the
bat away from Dr. Smith. And
				then you guys got there.
				BRENT
				Okay …
				(deliberating)
Did Dr. Smith say anything to
				either of you?
				MOLLY
				Oh, uh …
				(thinks for a moment)
				Yeah. I yelled something like,
"It’s you," and he said he
didn’t know what I was talking
				about.
				BRENT
				Is that it?
				MOLLY
Just about … oh, and he kept
				calling me "Ms. Fisher," and
				I thought that was kinda
				weird.
				SARAH
				It is.
				BRENT
				He’s a strange guy …
				MOLLY
				You’re right about that. But
I was saying to Sarah before,
				I don’t know—
She is interrupted by a beeping noise.
				SARAH
Oh, I gotta go. I’m being
				paged.
				BRENT
				See you later, Sarah. Love
				you.
				SARAH
				Love you too. Bye!
Exit Sarah.
Brent and Molly sit in silence for a moment.
				MOLLY
				Where was I?
				BRENT
				You were saying to Sarah—
				MOLLY
Oh yeah. I was saying that
I can’t figure out what his
				motive was.
				BRENT
				It’s possible that even he
				doesn’t know exactly what
his motive was – is. It’s just
				a freak obsession.
A few moments of awkward silence ensue.
				MOLLY
				I, uh, I better go.
				BRENT
				Yeah, maybe that’s a good
				idea.
Molly goes to the door.
				MOLLY
				Thanks for everything you’re
				doing with this.
				BRENT
				It’s my job.
				MOLLY
				Bye.
				BRENT
				See ya later.
Exit Molly.
				BRENT
				(thinking)
Dammit – if I could just get
				my feelings for her sorted
				out.
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM SAME
CLAIRE opens her eyes and stares at TIM in shock.
				CLAIRE
				(frantic)
What do you mean the baby’s
				gone?
				TIM
				Nothing, Claire, nothing …
				CLAIRE
What the hell is going on,
				Tim? Tell me!
				TIM
				Calm down, calm down.
				CLAIRE
				Tell me what’s going on!!
				TIM
				Just calm down.
				(beat)
The nurse just came in. She
				said that Travis is missing.
				CLAIRE
				What?!?
				TIM
				He’s been kidnapped.
				CLAIRE
				How could this happen?
				TIM
				I don’t know – someone must
				have been very determined.
				But who?
Claire appears frightened all of a sudden.
										FADE TO:
FLASHBACK
INT. TIM & CLAIRE’S APT. MIDDAY
JAMES stands against the door.
										FADE TO:
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM MORNING
				CLAIRE
				Oh my God.
				TIM
				What?
				CLAIRE
				(stunned)
				My father …
INT. CAR SAME
DIANE drives alone in her car.
				DIANE
I hope my plan is working …
this has been too simple. I
bet James went over there &
				started a fight between the
two of them … oh, this is
				exactly what I’ve been wait-
				ing for.
ACT FOUR
INT. CHASE HOME MORNING
Courtney’s room is empty. The door opens and in steps COURTNEY, wearing a towel. She goes over to a dresser and opens a drawer, pulling out some clothes.
As she does this, some muffled sounds begin to echo through the room. She stops for a moment.
				COURTNEY
				What was that?
All is silent again and she resumes finding an outfit. Then
a whisper begins to float through the room.
				SHANNON
				(whispering)
				Courtney … Courtney …
Courtney throws down the clothes.
				COURTNEY
What the hell is going on?
Enter DON, confused.
				DON
				Courtney, what’s wrong?
				COURTNEY
				I just keep hearing these
				noises.
				DON
				Like what?
				COURTNEY
				Like this muffled sound. And
				then a voice.
				DON
				(skeptical)
				A voice?
				COURTNEY
				Yeah.
Don looks around the room in confusion.
				DON
				Maybe you’d better get some
				rest, Court.
				COURTNEY
				Yeah, you’re probably right.
Don leaves the room.
Courtney sits down.
				COURTNEY
				(sotto voce)
				What is happening to me?
INT. FISHER HOME SAME
BILL sits in the living room, reading. The sound of a door opening is heard, and shortly after MOLLY enters the room.
				BILL
				Molly! How are you?
				MOLLY
Fine … did you hear about
				last night?
				BILL
Sarah told us. I’m glad they
				caught that nut.
				MOLLY
I’m sure we’ll have no trouble
				getting a conviction.
				BILL
				There’s tons of evidence. At
				least you’re safe now.
				MOLLY
I just can’t believe that all
the while he was treating Tim in
				the hospital, he was spending
				his free time torturing me.
				BILL
				Everyone, especially your
				mother, has been saying that
				it seemed like something was
				wrong with him. Apparently it’s
				more serious than we thought.
				MOLLY
				Obviously.
				BILL
So, what’d you come over for?
				MOLLY
				I don’t know … I just didn’t
				feel like going home alone.
				BILL
				Is Craig at work?
				MOLLY
Yep. Then Sarah came over, &
we went to the police station
so I could give a statement.
				BILL
				It seems like Craig really
				pulled you through this.
				MOLLY
				(searches for an answer)
Yeah, I guess he did …
INT. HOSPITAL ROOM SAME
CLAIRE sits up in the bed, while TIM sits in a nearby chair.
				TIM
				Your father? Do you really
				think…?
				CLAIRE
I don’t know, Tim, but look
at what he’s done to us so
far. I mean, he’s been doing
it to other people for years.
It was only a matter of time
before he turned on me – us.
				TIM
But why? Why would he just
				decide to kidnap Travis?
				CLAIRE
				That’s a good point—
				TIM
				After all, the only reason
he had me shot was because
he thought I was making you
				miserable. Everything he does
seems to be to make you happy.
				CLAIRE
				You’re right about that. But
				what if…?
				TIM
				What if what?
				CLAIRE
				What if someone tipped him
off that a warrant was going
to issued for his arrest? If
he got mad and took Travis to
				get revenge?
				TIM
				It’s a possibility.
				CLAIRE
Tim, wake up. Who else could
it be? I don’t really know
				many villains …
				TIM
But who would have told him?
				Who is responsible for this?
										CUT TO:
INT. CAR SAME
DIANE is driving alone.
				DIANE
				If everything goes according
to my plan, James should have
				gone over there and defended
				himself. Poor little Claire
				probably took his side and
made Tim leave. Poor guy – he’s
probably a wreck. I hope he
needs a shoulder to lean on …
				hopefully more.
She cracks an evil grin.
ACT FIVE
INT. BRENT’S OFFICE MIDDAY
BRENT works at his desk. Enter SARAH.
				SARAH
				I’m back.
				BRENT
				Oh, good. How’s it going?
				SARAH
Great. I’m glad we caught Dr.
				Smith.
				BRENT
Me too. Molly’s out of danger.
				SARAH
				(thinking, sarcastically)
				Well, we wouldn’t want our
				precious little Molly to get
				hurt, would we?
Sarah turns on a radio. "I’ll Never Break Your Heart" by the Backstreet Boys plays as she approaches Brent, who stands.
				SARAH
				(seductively)
				So, Officer, I think there’s
another case we need to solve.
				BRENT
				And what would that be?
				SARAH
We need to find out exactly
what’s under that uniform of
yours.
They begin a deep kiss.
				BRENT
Nice to know you’re the lead
				investigator on this one.
				SARAH
				Happy to have the honor.
They kiss passionately as Sarah begins to unbutton Brent’s shirt.
INT. DIANE’S OFFICE SAME
DIANE works behind her desk. Suddenly she puts her down and stares off into space.
				DIANE
It won’t be long before I
can make my move on Tim …
				and then who knows what’ll
				happen.
She picks up the phone.
				DIANE
				(cont’d)
But first I have to make sure
				that everything worked out.
She dials.
INT. PRIVATE PLANE SAME
A cell phone rings. JAMES appears on screen and picks it up.
				JAMES
				Hello?
				DIANE (OS)
James, hi … This is Diane
				Bishop.
				JAMES
Just the person I didn’t want
to hear from. If you don’t
mind, I really have to go—
INT. DIANE’S OFFICE SAME
DIANE sits behind her desk, talking on the phone.
				DIANE
I just wanted to know how
				things went at the hospital.
Did you go over there this
				morning?
				JAMES (OS)
				Actually, last night.
				DIANE
				Really? How did it go?
				JAMES (OS)
				That’s really none of your
				business, Diane—
He is interrupted by the cry of a baby.
				DIANE
				What was that?
				JAMES (OS)
				Nothing.
				DIANE
That was a baby, wasn’t it?
				JAMES (OS)
				I’m afraid you’re hearing
things, Diane. Now if you will
let me, I really must go.
A baby’s cry is once again heard over the phone.
				DIANE
				There is a baby there!
She thinks for a moment and hesitates.
				DIANE
				(cont’d)
				You didn’t!
				JAMES (OS)
				Whatever you’re thinking, I
				didn’t do it.
				(firmly)
Now good-bye.
Through Diane’s phone, a dial tone can be heard.
She appears shocked.
INT. PRIVATE PLANE SAME
JAMES puts away his cell phone and slowly turns around.
				JAMES
It won’t be long before we’re
there … no, not at all.
He moves his head out of the way to reveal baby TRAVIS lying in a car seat, belted into one of the plane’s seats.
